Classic rock radio spewing out
All the tired old cliches
And trite words of wisdom about freedom
And living on the edge
And as dumb as it may sound
Right now, it’s all I want to hear
The soundtrack to my stroll around this town
This town,
This one’s for all the friends, the neurotic,
The pot smokers, in my forcefield
I just brush off, your sycophants, your backstabbers
I got my own people,
In my forcefield, in my forcefield
Call your local politician
'Cause I know all the good spots to take a whizz out here,
And I’ve been loitering, since I have learned to walk
Places where we used to go, kick trash cans and play card games
Tumbling down from idlers’ heaven ‘round this town
I’m late for the show,
Line check, then let’s roll
Bowl of rice on the boat
Same set for the same 5 friends
And I love it
And I love it
Rushed, unfazed,
Unbrushed, unkept, anxious
Beatnik, cynical prick,
Dumbass, jackass
I sing this one
For all the friends, the neurotic
The pot smokers, in my forcefield
I’ll just brush off
Your sycophants, your backstabbers
I got my own people,
In my forcefield
These ballisticaly loaded tunes purposely deny a certain closure that is intended to keep one hitting the replay button. Well played Smirk, well played. jfpOne23
I know it's an obscure reference, but the singer reminds me of Anneke van Giersbergen from the Gathering. The singer of Romero is a highlight of the band's sound, and the power-pop tunes are driven by her. Looking forward to future releases of this band. Bart
