So you crawled back from work
Was it six or seven ?
And you muttered out loud « Anybody,
I’m home »
Like any other day,
Nobody was
Not even you, in your spectral form
Your spectral form
Ugly buildings, pretty people
They both crack easily
Cowardice, licorice
Both leave a taste you’d rather spit
Out in the cold with your scarf down
Mumbling your way around town
Drowned in smoke in a shit pub
Nothing happened today
Nothing happened anyway
Dragging along
Your therapy sessions,
Out on the curb with the
Stoner cashiers
Memories seemingly
Badly reenacted
By amateurs who fuck up the play,
Fuck up the play
Creeping on you like
The death toll
Ugly buildings, pretty people
They both crack easily
Cowardice, licorice
Both leave a taste you’d rather spit
Out in the cold with your scarf down
Mumbling your way around town
Drowned in smoke in a shit pub
Nothing happened today
Nothing happened anyway
These ballisticaly loaded tunes purposely deny a certain closure that is intended to keep one hitting the replay button. Well played Smirk, well played. jfpOne23
I know it's an obscure reference, but the singer reminds me of Anneke van Giersbergen from the Gathering. The singer of Romero is a highlight of the band's sound, and the power-pop tunes are driven by her. Looking forward to future releases of this band. Bart
